Flood Devastation in Punjab: Imarat-e-Sharia Relief Team Surveys Affected Areas, Urges Immediate Government Aid

Insaaf Times Desk

Amid the flood crisis caused by the rising Sutlej River and heavy rainfall in Ludhiana and surrounding areas of Punjab, the Imarat-e-Shariah relief team conducted a field visit to assess the situation.

The team, deployed under the guidance of Ameer-e-Shariat Maulana Syed Ahmad Wali Faisal Rahmani, is led by Naib Nazim Maulana Mufti Mohammad Sohrab Nadvi Qasmi and Assistant Nazim Maulana Ahmad Hussain Qasmi. The 13-member delegation includes senior clerics, students, and expert representatives.

Following Friday prayers, the team visited areas along the Sutlej River near Ludhiana to inspect the rapid water flow and the damage caused by flooding. Reports indicate that millions of acres of farmland are submerged, several houses have been washed away, and residents are struggling to save their livelihoods amid minimal government assistance, which has made relief efforts more challenging.

The Imarat-e-Shariah team will soon visit Amritsar and other affected districts to assess losses and assist in relief operations and the restoration of homes.

The team has appealed to the public to extend generous support to flood-affected families. Many residents wish to return home once the waters recede, but their belongings have been destroyed, livestock lost, and crops damaged.

Ameer-e-Shariat has also urged the government to take immediate and effective measures for relief and rehabilitation. Meanwhile, a medical team led by Dr. Yasir Habib from Imarat-e-Shariah Hospital is being dispatched to provide healthcare assistance in the affected areas.

From the headquarters, Nazim-e-Aala Maulana Mufti Mohammad Saeed Rahman Qasmi is maintaining constant communication with the field team, while Ameer-e-Shariat continues to direct efforts to ensure maximum assistance reaches those affected. The public has also been urged to contribute to the relief fund to help reach as many people as possible.
