Major STF Operation in Siwan: AK-47 Cartridges Seized from Khan Brothers’ Hideouts, Four Arrested

Insaaf Times Desk

In a major operation on Sunday, the STF and district police in Siwan, Bihar, raided multiple locations linked to the notorious Khan brothers. The raid resulted in the seizure of 47 AK-47 cartridges, bulletproof jackets, and other modern weapons. Four individuals were taken into custody, including the infamous Rais Khan, Aftab Alam, Munna Miyan, and another associate.

DIG of Saran Range, Nilesh Kumar, stated that the operation was conducted based on a tip-off. The raids began early Sunday morning and continued for over five hours. “Weapons and other illegal materials have been recovered. Further raids will be conducted based on the ongoing investigation,” he said.

Rais Khan faces 43 criminal cases, while Aftab Alam is accused in six cases and Munna Miyan in three. The DIG also indicated that the recovered weapons may be linked to the arms looted during the 2023 killing of constable Valmiki Yadav.

The Khan brothers of Siwan – Rais and Ayub Khan – have long been notorious for their strongman image. Ayub Khan is accused of a triple murder in 2022. On January 15, 2025, both brothers were inducted into the Lok Janshakti Party by its president and Union Minister Chirag Paswan. Rais Khan had also been speculated to contest elections from the Raghunathpur assembly seat.

The police are interrogating the arrested individuals, and forensic analysis of the recovered weapons is underway. The DIG hinted that further revelations may emerge following the questioning.

This operation has stirred significant activity not only in Siwan but across political and criminal circles throughout Bihar.
