On Sunday, the state office of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) commemorated the birth anniversary of Bihar’s former Chief Minister and freedom fighter, Bhola Paswan Shastri. Party leaders and workers paid tribute by garlanding his portrait under the chairmanship of state president Mangani Lal Mandal.

Mandal said that Shastri had been involved in the Non-Cooperation Movement since his student days and was imprisoned twice for the cause. “He was a staunch humanist, simple in nature, and always dedicated to the welfare of the helpless. The event was attended by National General Secretary Beenu Yadav, State Vice President Suresh Paswan, State Treasurer Mohammad Kamran, Chief Spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav, Spokesperson Ejaz Ahmed, former MLA Bhai Dinesh, and leaders including Arun Kumar, Faiyaz Alam Kamal, Nandu Yadav, Pramod Kumar Ram, Nirbhay Kumar Ambedkar, Shyam Nandan Paswan, Neetu Kumari Ahmed, James Kumar Yadav, Chhaya Rani, Upendra Chandravanshi, Reena Chaudhary, among others.

Leaders said that Bhola Paswan Shastri’s spirit of sacrifice and dedication to service provides a guiding example for the younger generation to pursue politics with honesty and simplicity.
