Under the aegis of the Urdu Directorate, Cabinet Secretariat Department, Government of Bihar, a grand competitive program was organized at the District Council Auditorium under the Urdu Language Cell, Muzaffarpur.
On this occasion, students from different academic levels showcased their talents with remarkable performances. Students of Class 10, Intermediate, and Graduation presented impactful speeches on the themes: “How are books our friends?”, “The important contribution of Urdu journalism in the freedom movement”, and “Urdu language and globalization.” The participants were widely appreciated by the distinguished guests for their expression, thoughtfulness, and language skills.
During the program, the district-level Urdu magazine “Urdu Nama, Muzaffarpur” was also formally launched. The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, which added dignity and a festive atmosphere to the occasion.
Mohammad Rafi, State Coordinator of the National Teachers’ Organization, Bihar, in his address said that such programs provide a strong platform for nurturing students’ talent. He remarked that competitions have the power to transform “a particle into a ray.” He encouraged students to remain consistently dedicated and to perform better in the future.
He also appreciated the magazine “Urdu Nama,” stating that it is the result of the joint efforts of District Treasury Officer and DDO Urdu Language Cell Muzaffarpur VZ Rahman, Translation Officer and In-charge Urdu Language Cell Ashrat Jahan, and editor Wasi Ahmad Hariri. The magazine beautifully includes various forms of Urdu literature such as poetry, ghazals, and essays. It also highlights the history of the Urdu language, its challenges, and prominent personalities.
He further noted that VZ Rahman enriched the publication by collecting contributions from Urdu writers and poets.
The jury panel included Dr. Zeenat, Mohammad Sohrab, Mohammad Naseeruddin, Dr. Kausar Ali, and Dr. Muftis Ahmed. The winners were awarded first, second, and third prizes along with incentive amounts, medals, and certificates from the Government of Bihar.
The program was presided over by VZ Rahman Ansari, Officer of the Urdu Language Cell, who congratulated the participants and said that such events will strengthen the future of the Urdu language.
The event was attended by Professor Wasim Raza, Ameer Haider, Shakeel Chishti, journalist Nazhat Jahan, poet and journalist Ejaz Adil, Dr. Matiur Rahman Aziz, along with several writers, teachers, journalists, and social workers. A large number of students and Urdu lovers also participated, making the event a success.
In conclusion, all the guests appreciated the efforts of the students and wished them a bright future ahead.
