“Mob Violence in Madhubani: BYO and SIO Raise Voice for Justice for Nursed Alam”

A violent attack on Nursed Alam, a resident of Supaul, in Nandi Chakda under Rajnagar police station of Madhubani, has brought the inaction of the administration and police into sharp focus. The Students Islamic Organization (SIO) Bihar and Bihar Youth Organization (BYO) have strongly condemned the incident and demanded immediate justice and protection for Nursed.

According to SIO and BYO, Nursed Alam had traveled to Madhubani for work. On the night of December 29, a group of antisocial elements allegedly entered his room, insulted him based on his beard by calling him “Bangladeshi and Pakistani,” forced him to chant “Jai Shri Ram,” and even threatened his life while recording the ordeal on video.

The following day, around 1 PM, as Nursed was returning home, a mob of approximately 50 people reportedly surrounded him with bikes and vehicles and brutally assaulted him. His condition is said to be serious.

SIO Bihar state president Daniyal Akram and BYO general secretary Faisal Babar stated, “This attack is not just on Nursed Alam, but on the Constitution, justice, and humanity itself. The inaction of the Bihar Police is emboldening the criminals. We demand that justice be ensured immediately for Nursed.”

The organizations have urged the police to register an FIR under Sections 109, 190, and 196(2) of the Indian Penal Code, arrest all the perpetrators, and ensure that Nursed Alam receives proper medical treatment, security, and compensation at the government’s expense.

SIO and BYO have also warned that they will continue their struggle through democratic and constitutional means until justice is delivered.
