A big opportunity to become an engineer at low cost: Maulana Azad National Urdu University to launch new B.Tech courses from 2026–27, entrance exam on May 19; modern infrastructure and IIT–NIT trained faculty claimed

In a significant step to promote technical education in the country, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) has announced the launch of four new B.Tech programs under its School of Engineering and Technology at its main campus in Hyderabad, starting from the academic session 2026–27. This move brings a major opportunity and relief, especially for students seeking quality technical education at an affordable cost.

All these courses introduced by the university are duly approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The new programs include B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Civil Engineering. According to experts, these fields are among the most in-demand today in terms of employment and innovation.

Admission Process and Exam Pattern

Admission to these courses will be through a university-conducted entrance examination, which is scheduled for May 19, 2026. The syllabus will be based on the Intermediate (10+2) level, covering Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The exam will carry a total of 100 marks with multiple-choice questions (MCQs), including 50 marks for Mathematics, 25 for Physics, and 25 for Chemistry.

Modern Infrastructure and Experienced Faculty

According to the university’s Public Relations Officer, Dr. Mohammad Yusuf Khan, the newly established School of Engineering and Technology is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. These include high-speed Wi-Fi-enabled smart classrooms, advanced laboratories with modern technical equipment, and a contemporary library featuring an OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) system.

He further added that most faculty members are highly qualified, holding PhDs and having been educated at reputed institutions such as IITs and NITs, enabling them to provide high-quality and practical education to students.

Fee Structure: A Big Relief for Students

Keeping its social commitment in mind, MANUU has set a highly affordable fee structure. The semester fee for male students is ₹5,500, while for female students, the first semester fee is only ₹1,650. This initiative is aimed particularly at encouraging students from economically weaker sections and promoting higher education among female students.

Hostel and Other Facilities

The university will also provide hostel facilities for eligible students within the campus, ensuring accommodation for those coming from distant areas. Additionally, all necessary arrangements are in place to maintain a safe and academic-friendly campus environment.

Application Deadline and Contact Information

The last date to apply online for these courses is April 27, 2026. Interested candidates are advised to submit their applications within the stipulated time. For further information and guidance, applicants can contact the university helpline at 9848171044.

A New Milestone in Education

Experts believe that this initiative by MANUU will not only strengthen its role in the field of technical education but will also play a crucial role in providing affordable and quality engineering education to students from minority and underprivileged communities. It is seen as an important step toward achieving the goal of inclusive and accessible higher education in the country.
