Four Girls Commit Suicide in Aurangabad After Being Prevented from Meeting Boys; One Girl Survives

In a tragic incident in Saidpur village under Haspura police station of Aurangabad Bihar, five minor girls allegedly consumed poison, resulting in the deaths of four and leaving one critically injured.

According to police, the incident occurred on January 29, 2026, but local residents reportedly informed authorities only several days later. The four deceased girls were cremated the same day without a postmortem.

SP Ambreesh Rahul stated that, based on the surviving girl’s account, family members were unhappy with the girls meeting boys, and this disapproval reportedly led the five girls to take the extreme step.

Police are currently investigating all aspects of the case. Authorities noted that it is not yet clear whether the girls acted voluntarily or under external pressure.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the village, serving as a grave warning for the community. An FIR has been registered, and a detailed investigation is underway.

This marks the third such incident in Aurangabad district in the past five years. In 2022, six girls in the Kasma police area attempted suicide, five of whom died. In 2023, four girls attempted suicide, resulting in one death.
