Dular Chand Murder Case: Anant Singh Denied Bail, to Remain in Beur Jail

JD(U) MLA from Mokama, Anant Singh, faced a major setback on Thursday when the MP-MLA Special Court in Patna rejected his bail plea in the Dular Chand Yadav murder case. Following the court order, it is now clear that Singh will remain in judicial custody at Beur Central Jail for the time being.

The murder of Dular Chand Yadav took place during the assembly election campaign in the Ghoswari area of Mokama. The Yadav community has directly accused Anant Singh and his supporters of being involved in the incident. The police registered a case, arrested Singh, and sent him to jail.

During the court hearing, the prosecution argued that Singh wields considerable influence in the region and that his release could put pressure on witnesses and affect the investigation. The defense, however, contended that Singh was implicated without sufficient evidence and that the case was part of a political conspiracy by rivals.

Anant Singh’s lawyer, Kumar Harshvardhan, said, “The court has rejected the bail plea. After receiving a copy of the order, we will appeal to the Patna High Court. We expect to receive relief there.”

Following the court’s decision, political activity in Mokama and surrounding areas has intensified, with both JD(U) supporters and opposition groups actively engaged. The murder has raised serious questions about law and order amid the election season.

Experts believe that the outcome of the High Court appeal could have significant implications not only legally but also on the political front.
