Delhi University Student’s Viral Video: Serious Allegations Against Professor and Department Head Spark Social Media Uproar

A video of Delhi University (DU) student Chitra Rajput has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread discussion both within the university and across online platforms. In the video, the student levels serious allegations against her department’s professor and head, raising questions about the role of the university administration.

The video, approximately 2 minutes and 31 seconds long, shows Chitra tearfully stating that a few days ago, she had posted a video on her Instagram account accusing a professor of misconduct. She claims that following this, the department head called her to his office and pressured her to remove the reels, threatening, “Delete the reels you have posted, or we can make life very difficult for you.”

Chitra further alleges that she was not even given her admit card, and that some classmates went to the department head saying, “The professor is correct, I am wrong.” She claims these students were acting to secure 40 marks in their internal assignments.

In the video, Chitra emotionally recounts that when the department head asked her again to meet the professor in his office, she firmly refused, stating that she earned her place at the university through her talent and hard work and would not beg anyone in their office.

Additionally, she alleges that “the professor and the university system are being run by thugs” and that “professors decide how long students must sit in their offices to receive their grades.”

The video is rapidly gaining traction on social media, with users demanding an immediate, impartial, and transparent investigation by the university administration. Many have expressed concern for the student’s safety and future, while others have questioned whether the administration will take any action. As of now, Delhi University has not issued any official response.

Meanwhile, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has called for an independent investigation, emphasizing that the allegations should not be taken lightly and that student safety and dignity must remain a top priority.

As the matter continues to trend online, the controversy raises significant questions about DU’s internal grievance redressal system, teacher-student relationships, and overall academic transparency.
