Big Opportunity for Government Jobs in Bihar: BSSC Announces Recruitment for 24,492 Posts, 12th Pass Candidates Eligible to Apply

Bihar is set to witness one of its largest recruitment drives for clerical-level posts as the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has announced a total of 24,492 vacancies under the Second Inter-Level Combined Competitive Examination 2025. Earlier, the number of posts was 23,175, but an additional 1,317 posts have now been added, making this the biggest clerical-level recruitment in the state’s history.

According to the commission, over 35 lakh applications have been received so far. Initially, recruitment was announced for 12,199 posts, followed by an addition of approximately 11,000 posts.

This recruitment is primarily for intermediate (12th pass) candidates and covers positions such as Clerk, Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Revenue Staff, and Data Entry Operator across various departments. Candidates from anywhere in India are eligible to apply.

General Category Men: 18–37 years

Women: 18–40 years

Reserved Categories: Age relaxation as per government norms

*Exam Pattern and Preparation

The exam will be 150 marks, to be completed in 2 hours.

Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) will be asked, with negative marking (1 mark deducted for each wrong answer).

*Subject Distribution:

General Studies / GK: 50 marks

Mathematics & Science: 50 marks

Reasoning: 50 marks

According to educator Rhemanshu Sir, the selection process will have three stages – Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and Skill/Typing Test, based on which the final merit list will be prepared.

*Preparation Tips:

Focus on Bihar-related current affairs, history, geography, Indian Constitution, and general science for General Studies.

Strengthen basic concepts of mathematics and science up to 12th standard.

Regular practice in reasoning will improve speed and accuracy.

Review current affairs from the past year.

The application process is completely online, with the last date to apply: 15 January 2026. Interested candidates can apply through the official BSSC website, paying an application fee of ₹100 for all categories.
