Signs of Major Changes in BPSC Recruitment System: Prelims + Mains Pattern May Be Introduced in TRE 4!Commission and Government Become Active After AEDO Exam Controversy; Teacher Recruitment May Be Delayed if New System is Implemented

A major change may soon be seen in the recruitment examination system of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). Following the cancellation of the AEDO examination and allegations of irregularities during the exam, the Commission is now preparing to completely revamp its examination system. According to sources, a proposal has been prepared to replace the current “Single Exam System” with a two-stage examination process — Prelims and Mains — for upcoming major recruitments, including TRE 4.

According to reports, the proposal has already been sent to the General Administration Department (GAD). The new system may be implemented after receiving approval from the government. However, BPSC has not yet issued any official notification regarding this matter.

Stricter Measures After the AEDO Examination Controversy

It is noteworthy that during the recently conducted AEDO examination, complaints related to Bluetooth devices, solver gangs, and organized malpractice surfaced from several districts. Following this, BPSC cancelled two recruitment examinations, including AEDO. The Commission also barred several candidates and took action against the agencies involved.

After the examination controversy, pressure has increased on both the Commission and the state government to make the recruitment process more secure and transparent. It is believed that the proposed changes in the examination system are being considered as part of these reforms.

What Could Change?

If the proposal receives approval, several major changes may be introduced in the BPSC recruitment process. The single examination system may be abolished, Preliminary (Prelims) and Main (Mains) examinations may be introduced, the selection process could involve multiple stages, security and monitoring arrangements at examination centers may be strengthened, and new technological systems may be implemented to prevent large-scale malpractice.

Experts believe that while the recruitment process may become longer, it will improve transparency and credibility.

TRE 4 Recruitment May Be Affected

The biggest impact of the new examination system is expected to be on the BPSC TRE 4 recruitment process. If the Commission implements the new pattern, it will have to revise examination rules, syllabus, and procedures. As a result, the release of the TRE 4 notification may be delayed.

The development has increased concerns among lakhs of candidates preparing for teacher recruitment examinations. However, some aspirants are also viewing it as a necessary step toward a fairer and more transparent system.

What Should Candidates Do?

Competitive examination experts advise candidates to avoid rumors and wait for official updates. They also suggest that candidates should continue preparing for both the Prelims and Mains examinations so that they do not face difficulties if the new system is implemented.

Final Decision Lies with the Government

At present, the proposal is said to be under consideration. Attention is now focused on the state government and the Cabinet’s approval. If the proposal receives the green signal, it could be considered the biggest reform in Bihar’s recruitment examination system in recent years.
