Two horrifying rape incidents in Bihar have caused widespread shock: in Buxar, a dancer was held hostage for 24 hours and gang-raped after a wedding ceremony, while in Gaya, a woman was subjected to brutality after being pulled off a train as part of a planned conspiracy. Ten suspects have been taken into custody.

Two extremely serious incidents of crimes against women in Bihar have shaken the entire state. The cases reported from Buxar and Gaya districts have not only raised serious questions over the functioning of the police administration but have also created an atmosphere of fear and public anger across the region.

Buxar: Dancer abducted after wedding event, held captive for 24 hours and gang-raped

A shocking case of gang rape has been reported from the Rajpur police station area in Buxar district involving a 25-year-old dancer. The victim was reportedly invited to perform at a wedding ceremony, but was later trapped in a planned crime after the event ended.

According to the allegations, a man lured her away under false pretenses and took her to a riverside location, where several other accused were already present. She was then forcibly held hostage for nearly 24 hours and allegedly gang-raped by 4 to 5 individuals in turns.

The victim stated that she was also assaulted physically, her clothes were torn, and she was mentally tortured during the ordeal. After the crime, the accused allegedly left her unconscious and fled the scene after looting her mobile phone and cash.

After regaining consciousness, the victim managed to reach her village and informed locals, following which the police were alerted. An FIR has been registered and investigation is underway. Officials said several suspects are being interrogated and evidence is being collected from the crime scene.

Gaya: Woman forced off train through chain-pulling, gang-raped in isolated area; 10 suspects detained

The second incident has been reported from the Belaganj police station area in Gaya district, where a woman was allegedly gang-raped after being targeted through a pre-planned conspiracy.

According to information, the victim was travelling from Jehanabad to Gaya by train when the train was stopped using chain-pulling. She was forced to disembark at an isolated stretch. As soon as she got off, she was allegedly attacked by more than four men who were already waiting at the spot.

She was taken to a secluded area and gang-raped. After the incident, the victim informed the police and was immediately admitted to a hospital for medical treatment.

Police have detained 10 suspects so far and are questioning them. A forensic team has also been deployed to collect evidence. Officials said the identities of the accused have largely been established and arrests are expected soon.

Police response: Special investigation teams formed

Taking both incidents seriously, police have formed special investigation teams. Authorities have assured that the investigation is being conducted on a priority basis and no accused will be spared.

Public anger and demand for justice

Following the reports of these incidents, widespread anger has erupted at the local level. People are demanding strict punishment for the accused and swift justice. Once again, concerns have been raised over women’s safety and the effectiveness of law enforcement in the state.

These two incidents once again highlight the serious challenges surrounding women’s safety in Bihar. From wedding venues to public transport, the lack of a secure environment continues to raise concerns about law and order.
