Bihar Police to Recruit 1,799 Sub-Inspectors (SI); Online Application Process Starts from September 26

The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has released the notification for recruitment of 1,799 Police Sub-Inspector (SI) posts in 2025. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online from September 26 to October 26, 2025. This recruitment provides a golden opportunity for graduate candidates to build a career in the Bihar Police.

Candidates must hold a graduate degree from a recognized university. The age limit as of August 1, 2025, is:

General Category: 20 to 37 years

OBC/EBC and Women: 20 to 40 years

SC/ST and Third Gender: 20 to 42 years

Physical Standards

Male candidates: Minimum height 165 cm; chest 79–84 cm

Female candidates: Minimum height 155 cm; minimum weight 48 kg

The recruitment process will be conducted in four major stages:

1.Preliminary Exam (Prelims)

2.Main Exam (Mains)

3.Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST)

4.Document verification and medical examination

The final merit list will be released after all stages are completed successfully

Application Fee
The application fee for all categories is ₹100.

Candidates must apply online only through the official BPSSC website. It is mandatory to submit all required documents and pay the application fee while filling out the form.

Selected candidates for the Police Sub-Inspector post will receive a salary of ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400 (Level 6) along with allowances.
