Aurai Assembly Seat Back in CPI-ML’s Favor? Meena Tiwari Appeals to Elect Aftab Alam at Workers’ Convention

In Aurai Assembly, the CPI-ML (Maoist) heated up the political atmosphere on Sunday by organizing a workers’ convention at Bhadai Bazaar. The convention saw the participation of several leaders, including the party’s Politburo member and AIPWA National General Secretary Meena Tiwari, and former candidate Aftab Alam.

Addressing the gathering, Meena Tiwari launched a sharp attack on the BJP-JDU alliance and the local MLA. She said that the MLA who had won the previous election had completely disappeared from public view, while the CPI-ML leaders continued their struggle. She added, “The people of Aurai will not be deceived this time. The public has decided to send the CPI-ML candidate to the Assembly. The BJP-JDU government has offered nothing but slogans and scams in the name of development.”

Former CPI-ML candidate Aftab Alam expressed concern over Aurai’s deteriorating conditions. He said that people are still forced to risk their lives crossing the Chachri bridge. The poor, Dalits, and Mahadalits remain deprived of proper housing and employment. He alleged, “Bulldozers are being run over the homes of the poor, while industrialists enjoy government protection. The BJP-JDU government is a government for the rich, not the poor. This struggle is not merely electoral; it is a fight for social justice and equality.”

Shatrughan Sahni, State Secretary of Khegramas Bihar, stated that the situation of agriculture and farming in the state has worsened and attacks on farmers and laborers have increased. He accused Nitish Kumar and PM Modi of serving corporate interests and announced that the struggle would be intensified.

District Secretary Krishna Mohan said that bulldozers are being used on the huts of the poor, and youth continue to face unemployment. He warned that the people would now show the anti-public government the way out of power.

Block Secretary Manoj Kumar Yadav said that the villages of Aurai-Katra are still deprived of basic facilities and stressed that the public must unite to move towards meaningful change.

The convention was attended by a large number of workers and local residents. At the end of the meeting, all attendees collectively resolved to defeat the BJP-JDU alliance and ensure the victory of the CPI-ML candidate.
