“Challenge to Prashant Kishor: If anyone can show even a fraction more property than I have declared, I am ready to become a servant”:Minister Ashok Chaudhary

Bihar’s Minister of Rural Development and JDU National General Secretary Ashok Chaudhary has categorically rejected the corruption and property allegations leveled against him by Jan Suraj founder Prashant Kishor, issuing a direct challenge. The minister stated, “If anyone can show even a fraction more property than what I have declared, I am ready to become a servant.”

Speaking to the media on Friday after a public hearing program at the JDU office in Patna, Ashok Chaudhary said that making allegations is easy, but without evidence, they hold no ground. He added, “If someone claims that I have a partnership with Trump, what does that even mean?”

The minister also clarified that the property purchased by his daughter, Shambhavi Chaudhary, is entirely legal and has been duly declared in his election affidavit. He termed Kishor’s allegations as baseless and misleading.

Ashok Chaudhary further asserted that no amount of allegations could politically kill him. “We have reached this far by putting up posters, pamphlets, and flags. I will confront all political opponents in Bihar directly,” he said.

Recently, Prashant Kishor had alleged that Ashok Chaudhary and his family had amassed property worth ₹200 crore over the past two years. In response, the minister has sent Kishor a ₹100 crore defamation notice. The court has summoned Kishor to appear on October 17.

The minister emphasized that with elections approaching, the verdict will ultimately come from the court of the people. He highlighted Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s women employment scheme as economically significant for women and said that Nitish Kumar enjoys unwavering support from the people of the state.

Ashok Chaudhary also stated that he will either contest the upcoming assembly elections himself or ensure his candidates are fielded. He said, “We will contest the elections, or we will make sure they are contested.”

This statement makes it clear that Minister Ashok Chaudhary has taken Prashant Kishor’s allegations seriously and has challenged him to provide proof. It remains to be seen how the court decides the matter and what impact it will have on Bihar’s political landscape.
