Nitish Kumar Jabs Modi Government For Covid Caution Amid Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Patna (Imam Ali/Insaaf Times) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar took a dig today at the Narendra Modi government for raising an alarm over a fresh COVID-19 wave at a time when Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra was gaining momentum.

The JD(U) leader, who quitted the BJP four months ago and join the “Mahagathbandhan”, which includes the Congress, vowing to defeat the NDA by uniting the opposition party on the next Lok Sabha polls, was talking to journalists on the sidelines of a function in Patna.

“It should be known why they (the ruling BJP at the Centre) had become laid-back over Covid in the first time, and why they have certainly become vigilant now when the Congress people are taking out a yatra,” Nitish Kumar said.

When pointed out that Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has called for ensuring COVID-19 protocol at the yatra, or putting off the Yatra “in national interest”, Nitish Kumar quipped, “That is why I am saying. Why do these people have an objection to that yatra? Why do they themselves keep taking out processions?”
