NCHRO joined protest at Jantar Mantar against demolition in Jahangirpuri

On May 14, 2022, a joint protest was held at Jantar Mantar against the demolition drive done at Jahangirpuri a few weeks ago.The protest was joined by several political organisations. The demolition has now been increasing and is taking place in other areas as well. Human rights organisations the National Confederation of Human Rights Organisations (NCHRO) took part in the protest as well.Displacing people in the name of development has long been a practice in Indian politics. However, the aspect of revenge in these demolitions is a little too clear. The attack on Muslims is ever-increasing.We demand that the people whose houses and shops have been demolished be provided immediate compensation. We will not tolerate the politics of hate.We also appeal to other progressive organisations to continue their resistance to this fascist regime.
