Delhi/Press ReleaseOn the night of March 25, 2021, Azeem Naved, the general secretary of the National Confederation of Human Rights Organisations, intervened into a fight in which some people were beating up an innocent guy. After his intervention, the people beat up Azeem Naved and attacked him with a knife.Azeem was taken to the Holi Family hospital by his peers for first aid. Currently, he is admitted in the trauma centre ot AIIMS hospital.On March 26, 2021, the NCHRO met the Assistant Commissioner of Police, South Delhi district and submitted a memorandum.The president of the Delhi committee of NCHRO, Adv. Amit Srivastav demanded in the memorandum immediate action against the culprits who beat up Azeem Naved, and that they be charged with the appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code.
