The Jan Suraaj Party on Sunday launched a strong attack on the Bihar and Central governments during a press conference held at its Pataliputra office in Patna. The party raised concerns over the state’s law and order situation, politics surrounding Nishant Kumar’s ‘Sadbhav Yatra’, and the alleged murder of a youth named Pandav in Delhi.
Party leaders alleged that Nishant Kumar’s yatra is not a development roadmap but an attempt to preserve political legacy, calling it disconnected from public concerns.
The leaders further claimed that rising crime, migration, and unemployment remain major issues in Bihar, while political parties are focusing more on symbolic campaigns and yatras.
Not a development roadmap, but an attempt to save political legacy: Kishore Kumar
Senior Jan Suraaj leader Kishore Kumar criticized Nishant Kumar’s Sadbhav Yatra, stating that it is not a concrete development initiative but a political effort to protect legacy.
He said that despite several yatras and campaigns over the past two decades, there has been no substantial improvement in Bihar’s condition. According to him, migration has not stopped, education remains in poor condition, and corruption is still widespread.
Kishore Kumar also alleged that such yatras are being used to maintain political balance between JD(U) and BJP, adding that the future of JD(U) appears uncertain.
Killing due to being a Bihari and political silence is concerning: Kumar Saurav
Party national spokesperson Kumar Saurav raised the issue of Pandav’s alleged murder in Delhi, calling it not just a criminal act but a reflection of discrimination against Biharis.
He referred to an alleged remark stating “He was killed, so what’s the big deal,” calling it highly insensitive and insulting to the victim’s family.
Saurav questioned why leaders representing Bihar in Parliament have remained largely silent on the issue. He said that when a Bihari youth is killed in Delhi, the lack of political response raises serious concerns.
Issue of discrimination against Biharis is being ignored: Manish Kashyap
Jan Suraaj leader Manish Kashyap stated that incidents like the Pandav murder case highlight ongoing discrimination against people from Bihar in other states.
He claimed that the government’s response to such incidents involving migrant workers is often inadequate. Kashyap demanded that if a Bihari migrant worker is killed in another state, the family should receive ₹1 crore compensation along with a government job.
Demand for SIT probe and compensation
The Jan Suraaj Party reiterated its demand for a fair SIT investigation into the Pandav murder case and called for proper compensation and justice for the victim’s family. Leaders emphasized that the issue is not only related to law and order but also to social sensitivity.
