BJP’s Move in Bihar: Sending Nitish Kumar to Rajya Sabha Paves Way for CM Post, SDPI’s Mohammed Shafi Calls It a Serious Betrayal of Public Mandate

Mohammed Shafi, National Vice President of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), has strongly condemned the recent political developments in Bihar. Shafi stated that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar taking up a Rajya Sabha seat is a clear indication that the path is being paved for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to assume the Chief Minister’s position in the state.

He described the move as a serious betrayal of the mandate given by the people of Bihar, adding, “The public had placed their trust in Nitish Kumar’s leadership, not in political maneuvers that push him aside after the elections.”

Shafi expressed concern over what he called a troubling trend, where regional allies are used solely for electoral gains and discarded once their purpose is served. He emphasized that such political maneuvers weaken democratic values and the spirit of federalism.

The SDPI maintains that the people of Bihar deserve a governance system that respects their mandate while safeguarding the dignity and autonomy of the state.

Political analysts consider this development a significant turning point that could impact the balance of power and the future political trajectory of Bihar.
