“The international community has urged restraint amid rising tensions along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. China, Russia, Turkey, and the UN have called for an immediate ceasefire and a diplomatic resolution.”

The ongoing conflict along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border has heightened international concern. China, Russia, Turkey, and the United Nations have all urged both countries to exercise restraint and pursue diplomatic solutions.

China’s Statement

Beijing emphasized that Pakistan and Afghanistan are its neighbors and that the border clashes are causing severe harm to civilians. China called on both sides to resolve the issues through dialogue and negotiations.

Russia Offers Mediation

Russian special envoy Zamir Kabulov stated that Moscow is closely monitoring the situation. He added that Russian authorities are ready to establish communication and mediate if needed, urging Afghan and Pakistani officials to engage constructively.

Turkey’s Initiative

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan declared that Ankara is prepared to play an active role in restoring peace and a ceasefire between the two nations. Turkey called for immediate talks to resolve the conflict.

United Nations Warning

The UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) highlighted that civilian safety must remain a priority amid the border clashes. According to UN reports, at least 42 civilians were killed and 104 injured between February 26 and March 2. The UN appealed to all parties to immediately halt hostilities and uphold human rights.

Humanitarian Crisis and Displacement

Violence along the border has displaced thousands of families, complicating humanitarian aid delivery. Experts warn that the conflict will exacerbate Afghanistan’s already dire humanitarian situation.

Analysts note that the tension stems from longstanding security issues, border disputes, and terrorist activities. Pakistan accuses Afghan territory of being used for attacks against it, while Afghan officials reject these claims.
