Amid escalating tensions between Israel, the United States, and Iran, migrant workers from Bihar working in Gulf countries are facing increasing difficulties. Flight cancellations and airport closures have left many Bihari workers stranded far from their families for months.
In response, the Bihar government has launched a 24×7 helpline — 7217788114 — enabling stranded workers or their families to seek immediate assistance.
Dipak Anand, Secretary of the Department of Labour Resources and Migrant Welfare, described the helpline as a crucial initiative by the state. He assured that the department’s team would remain on high alert and that no stranded Bihari would be left alone in any situation.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary shared the helpline number on social media, emphasizing the government’s vigilance in ensuring the safety and support of migrant Biharis. He assured citizens that monitoring is ongoing around the clock and immediate action will be taken if needed.
The central government is also operating special relief flights to evacuate Indian citizens stranded in Gulf countries. Indian missions and officials are gathering information from affected areas to ensure the safe return of migrants.
Families of Bihari workers in the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and other Gulf nations are increasingly concerned, with missile alerts and reports of explosions heightening fears. Migrants have been urged to use the helpline and stay safe.
