CUET (UG) 2026: Application Deadline Extended, Now Open Till February 4

Students applying for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) 2026 have been given major relief by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The agency has extended the last date for submitting online applications to February 4, 2026, which was earlier scheduled for January 30, 2026.

According to a public notice issued by the NTA on Friday, the decision was taken in view of a large number of requests received from candidates and other stakeholders. Along with this, the last date for successful payment of the application fee has also been extended to February 7, 2026.

As per the revised schedule, candidates will be able to make corrections in their application forms between February 9 and February 11, 2026. The correction window will remain available on the official website https://cuet.nta.nic.in during the specified period.

The NTA further informed that the CUET (UG) 2026 examination will be conducted between May 11 and May 31, 2026 (tentative dates) in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The examination will be held in various cities across the country as well as in 15 cities outside India. Through CUET, students get a common platform for admission to undergraduate programmes in central universities, along with state, deemed and private universities.

Candidates have been advised to regularly visit the official websites https://nta.ac.in and https://cuet.nta.nic.in for the latest updates. For any information or assistance, candidates may contact the NTA helpline at 011-40759000 or send an email to cuct-ug@nta.ac.in.

The extension of the CUET (UG) 2026 application deadline will particularly benefit those students who were unable to apply within the earlier stipulated time.
