A horrific incident that has shaken the conscience of society has emerged from the Nalanda district of Bihar. A Class 8 student was allegedly gang-raped by four youths within the jurisdiction of the City Police Station. The prime suspect is reported to be the victim’s neighbor, who allegedly exploited her trust to orchestrate the heinous crime.
According to reports, the victim had gone to Gaya on January 22 to sell toys. While there, she was approached by Golu, a resident of her neighborhood, who was accompanied by three associates: Chhotu, Pappu, and an unidentified individual. Recognizing Golu as a neighbor, the girl trusted the group. Exploiting this familiarity, the four men allegedly lured and then forcibly abducted her, bringing her back to Biharsharif.
The Assault
In the First Information Report (FIR) filed at the Women’s Police Station, the victim stated that the accused took her to an isolated location in Biharsharif, where they took turns sexually assaulting her. When she attempted to resist, the perpetrators reportedly physically assaulted her. Following the ordeal, the accused abandoned the girl in an unconscious state near her residence and fled the scene. Family members and local residents discovered her and provided immediate assistance; she narrated the ordeal after regaining consciousness.
On Saturday, based on the victim’s statement, a formal case was registered against three named individuals and one unidentified suspect.
Kumari Usha Sinha, Station House Officer (SHO) of the Women’s Police Station, briefed the media on the development “This is an extremely grave matter. The incident occurred within the Biharsharif jurisdiction. The victim has undergone a medical examination, and police teams are conducting continuous raids to apprehend the accused.
