“Nitish Kumar’s Prosperity Journey: Ban on Private Practice for Government Doctors, Degree Colleges in Every Block, Government Jobs for Athletes Announced”

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched his “Prosperity Journey” from Western Champaran, announcing major initiatives in health, education, industry, and sports, emphasizing that Bihar will no longer lag behind and that comprehensive development will reach every district.

In the health sector, the Chief Minister announced a new policy prohibiting government doctors from running private clinics, aiming to improve the quality of public healthcare services.

On education, Nitish Kumar said that every block will get a degree college and a model school, reducing the need for students to leave Bihar for higher studies or employment. He highlighted ongoing initiatives for girls, including bicycles, uniforms, and scholarships. The recruitment of 5,24,000 teachers has also been completed.

In Bettiah city, plans include widening main roads, developing modern stadium facilities, constructing bypasses, and expanding industrial areas. New roads are also being built from Mannanpur to the Uttar Pradesh border and from Inarwa to Valmikinagar.

Under the “Saat Nischay” scheme, 6,62,000 women in the district have received ₹10,000 each. Additional support of ₹2 lakh per beneficiary will be provided to promote employment. Women will receive 35% reservation, and Livelihood Sisters (“Jeevika Didis”) will get ₹2 lakh each to enhance entrepreneurship.

Nitish Kumar also announced the promotion of the “Khelo India” program in Bihar, offering government jobs to athletes. Closed sugar mills will be reopened, and new industries will be established.

During the Prosperity Journey, the Chief Minister laid the foundation for 125 new projects worth ₹153 crore and inaugurated 36 schemes worth ₹29 crore. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Water Resources Minister Vijay Chaudhary, Disaster Management Minister Narayan Sah, and other dignitaries were present.
