Nitish Kumar to Launch ‘Samriddhi Yatra’ in North Bihar from January 16

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will kick off his 16th statewide ‘Samriddhi Yatra’ from January 16, marking a major push for development following his landslide election victory.

The yatra’s first phase, from January 16 to 24, will cover nine districts of North Bihar. The schedule is as follows: West Champaran (Bettiah) on January 16, East Champaran on January 17, Sitamarhi and Sheohar on January 19, Gopalganj on January 20, Siwan on January 21, Saran on January 22, Muzaffarpur on January 23, and Vaishali on January 24.

During the yatra, the CM will inspect ongoing projects under the ‘Saat Nishchay’ (Seven Resolves) schemes, inaugurate new initiatives, and hold direct interactions with the public to hear grievances and suggestions, with an emphasis on immediate resolution.

Administrative preparations are in full swing. Departmental officers, Chief Secretary, and DGP will attend review meetings in each district. For effective security and crowd management, special instructions have been issued, and police leave in Sitamarhi has been cancelled.

Analysts say the yatra is not just a review of development projects but also a platform to strengthen trust and dialogue between the government and citizens, highlighting Bihar’s focus on people-centric governance.

The Samriddhi Yatra is expected to send a strong message of good governance and development, while impacting the state’s administrative and social landscape.
