CPI(M) Patna Burns Effigy of Trump in Protest Against US Attack on Venezuela

A strong protest was held in Patna against the alleged nighttime attack by the United States on Venezuela and the reported abduction of the country’s elected President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores.

The Communist Party of India (Marxist), Patna District Committee, burned an effigy of US President Donald Trump near Patna Junction Golebarr. The party described the attack as “barbaric exercise of imperial military power and a serious violation of international law” and demanded the immediate release of Maduro and his wife.

The event expressed solidarity with the struggle of the Venezuelan people and urged the Indian government to strongly condemn the US action and raise its voice in support of Venezuela.

The program was attended by CPI(M) Central Committee member Avadhesh Kumar, State Secretary Board member Manoj Chandravanshi, senior leader Arun Mishra, District Secretary Shiv Ku Vidyarthi, Local Secretary Triloki Pandey, District Secretary Board member Sarita Pandey, along with leaders and activists Sujeet Kumar, Kulbhushan, Umesh Rai, Rajiv Ranjan, Deepak, Kishor, Ramnarayan, and others.

CPI(M) leader Manoj Chandravanshi said, “We stand against US bullying and express full solidarity with the struggle of the Venezuelan people. We hope that the Indian government will take appropriate steps in this matter.”
