Imarat-e-Sharia Launches Comprehensive Pre-SIR Training Campaign in Jharkhand, Aiming to Educate Youth and General Public

Ahead of the implementation of the SIR (Systematic Identity Registration) process in Jharkhand, Imarat-e-Sharia Bihar, Odisha, and Jharkhand has initiated a comprehensive and organized training campaign. The initiative aims to provide practical guidance to citizens in all districts on SIR, parental mapping, and voter forms 6, 7, and 8, ensuring that no citizen is left out of the process.

Speaking at a press conference, Qazi Maulana Mufti Muhammad Anzar Alam Qasmi of the Central Darul Qaza Imarat-e-Sharia stated that Maulana Ahmed Wali Faisal Rahmani, Amir-e-Shariat of Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, and West Bengal, has highlighted concerns that the current government has implemented SIR without a genuine necessity. He warned that in the future, voter ID and citizenship could be linked, and even minor errors could raise questions about a person’s citizenship. He stressed the importance of raising public awareness before the process begins.

Imarat-e-Sharia has formed a four-member team to conduct practical training for youth and social workers across all districts for one and a half months. The training will cover completing SIR forms, understanding parental mapping, and ensuring inclusion in voter lists.

Maulana Ahmad Hussain Qasmi Madani, Assistant Secretary, emphasized that the training program would be fully inclusive, reaching tribal communities such as Santhals, Oraons, Hos, Mundas, and Khadias. Special workshops will be conducted in every block of the state using projectors and prepared materials. Youth will not only be given information but also practical skills to assist the public in the field and correctly implement the SIR process at every stage.

The press conference was attended by representatives from various Milli Jamaats and social organizations, including Haji Shah Umair (General Secretary, Jamiat-e-Ulema [MIM]), Maulana Shafiq Aliyavi (In-charge, Jamiat Ahle-Hadith), Janab Mukhtar Ahmad (President, Anjuman-e-Islamia Ranchi), Dr. Tariq Hussain (Secretary, Anjuman-e-Islamia Ranchi), Maulana Sabir Hussain Mazahiri (President, Majlis-e-Ulema Jharkhand), Janab Praful Linda, and Janab Ratan Tirgi (social and tribal activists).

All representatives described the training campaign as timely, necessary, and aligned with public interest. They clarified that the initiative is entirely reformative, selfless, and not linked to any political party or interest. Its sole objective is to educate citizens about their constitutional and social rights and motivate them to play an active role in protecting these rights.

According to newspaper sources, Imarat-e-Sharia and allied Milli Jamaats have urged the people of Jharkhand—especially youth, intellectuals, and social workers—to actively participate in the training campaign, collaborate across religious and caste lines, and contribute to making the initiative a success.

The campaign is expected to ensure that after its completion, no citizen in Jharkhand will be excluded from the SIR process, enabling full access to voter lists and other essential documents, and helping citizens exercise their constitutional rights effectively.
