Librarian Recruitment to Begin After STET Results, TR-4 Teacher Appointments First

Aspirants awaiting librarian recruitment in Bihar will have to exercise patience a little longer. Education Minister Sunil Kumar clarified that the appointment process for teachers under TR-4 (TRE-4) will commence only after the declaration of the STET (State Teacher Eligibility Test) results. Only after this process is completed will the recruitment of librarians begin.

Speaking to reporters in Patna, the minister emphasized that the government’s current priority is to complete the TR-4 teacher recruitment. He added that details of vacant positions from all districts in the state are being collected. So far, information about over 100 vacant posts has been received from various districts. The final appointment dates will be announced once the complete data is compiled. Indications suggest that the teacher recruitment process may begin in January or shortly thereafter.

Minister Sunil Kumar further clarified that librarian recruitment will follow the teacher appointments, meaning aspirants will need to wait a bit longer.

He also highlighted the state government’s efforts to strengthen inclusive education by appointing special teachers for differently-abled children, ensuring they receive quality education.

The minister informed that plans to integrate computer education in government schools have already been initiated. Under this initiative, schools will be equipped with computer labs, tablets, and digital platforms, allowing both teachers and students to benefit from digital learning.

Referring to reforms in the education system under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Sunil Kumar said these efforts have led to an increase in enrollment in government schools. Currently, over 1.09 crore students in the state’s government schools are provided with midday meals daily.

He added that the government is also focusing on developing an employment-oriented education system to ensure better opportunities for youth while continuing to improve educational facilities for differently-abled children.
