Tejashwi Yadav Elected Mahagathbandhan Legislative Party Leader, Unity on Display Ahead of Assembly Session

Ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly session, a crucial meeting of the Mahagathbandhan (MGB) legislators was held on Saturday at Tejashwi Yadav’s official residence on 1‑Polo Road. The meeting was chaired by Tejashwi Yadav and was attended by legislators from all constituent parties of the alliance, including the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Indian National Congress (INC), and left‑wing parties. By unanimous decision, Tejashwi Yadav was elected as the leader of the Mahagathbandhan legislative party.

During the meeting, the alliance resolved that in the upcoming Assembly session, starting from December 1, they would raise issues of governance and public interest from the floor of the House to the streets. Congress legislative council member Sameer Kumar Singh said, “Respecting the mandate given by the people of Bihar, we will play the role of a constructive opposition.”

RJD state president Mangni Lal Mandal stated that the Mahagathbandhan remains fully united. He alleged that “there was voter fraud in the elections” and emphasized that opposition to policies against public interest will continue both inside and outside the Assembly.

In the 2025 Assembly elections, MGB managed to win only 35 seats, while the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which returned to power, secured 202 seats.
