Security agencies investigating the car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort have claimed the uncovering of a major “white-collar” terror network, reportedly spanning from Jammu and Kashmir to the national capital. In connection with this, Dr. Priyank Sharma from Haryana was taken into custody in Anantnag.
According to police sources, Dr. Sharma is a resident of Rohtak, Haryana, and was employed at a government medical college in South Kashmir. Her rented accommodation was searched, and her mobile phone and SIM card were seized for forensic examination.
Sources revealed that her name surfaced during the questioning of Dr. Adeel, a former employee at GMC Anantnag. His interrogation indicated that certain individuals may have provided financial and logistical support to the network.
Investigating officers noted that this module differs from traditional terrorism. It involves doctors and other professionals who allegedly used their professional positions to conceal the network’s operations.
While there is no direct evidence linking Dr. Sharma to any violent incident, forensic analysis and further questioning are ongoing. She was released after a brief period in custody.
Jammu and Kashmir Police stated that the case is highly complex, and only a few members of the network have so far been identified. Officials suspect that more individuals may be involved, and the network could be part of a larger conspiracy.
Experts say the revelation highlights that terrorism is no longer limited to active jihadi fighters; professionals and educated individuals are also increasingly implicated.
