AISA Jharkhand Holds Third State Conference in Dhanbad — Movement Against Privatization and Saffronization of Education to Intensify

Insaaf Times Desk

The All India Students’ Association (AISA), a prominent organization in Jharkhand’s student politics, successfully held its third state conference on October 8, 2025, in Dhanbad. A large number of students participated in the event, resolving to intensify the struggle for publicly funded and quality education across the state.

Among the key resolutions passed, the opposition to the National Education Policy (NEP) and the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) was prominent. Delegates alleged that both the Modi-led central government and the state government are implementing education policies that deepen inequality, and vowed to collectively resist such measures.

The conference expressed deep concern over the deteriorating state of education — from schools to higher institutions — and demanded that the government amend existing education-related laws in the interest of students. It also condemned the increasing attacks on Adivasi and marginalized students, calling for a stronger movement to defend their rights.

To strengthen the organization, the conference elected a 65-member state council, a 29-member executive committee, and a 15-member office-bearers team.
Comrade Trilokinath was elected State Secretary for the third consecutive term, while Comrade Vibha Pushpa Deep was re-elected as State President for the second time.

AISA leaders said the conference marks a new chapter of student unity against fascist forces in Jharkhand.
The session concluded with resounding slogans “Long live the legacy of the revolutionary student movement!” and “Red salute to the newly elected leadership!”
