For the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, the Jan Suraj Party has announced Preeti Kinnar as its candidate from the Bhore constituency in Gopalganj district. The seat is reserved for the Scheduled Caste (SC) category, and the announcement has generated enthusiasm among supporters and local residents.
Preeti Kinnar is among the first candidates from the third gender community to contest in the upcoming elections. Actively involved in social work for over two decades, she has organized weddings for poor girls, participated in youth sports and cultural events, and extended support to the needy. Her long-standing community engagement has earned her popularity among marginalized and backward sections of society.
The Bhore Assembly seat is currently held by Sunil Kumar of the JD(U), who also serves as Bihar’s Education Minister. This time, the contest is expected to be triangular, and Preeti Kinnar’s candidacy adds a new and interesting dimension to the race. Her supporters believe she will be a strong voice for the poor and the underprivileged in the state assembly.
Recently, a controversy arose regarding her caste certificate, with some political figures alleging that she does not belong to a Scheduled Caste. Preeti clarified that she is from the Paswan community, which qualifies her to contest from the reserved seat. The Jan Suraj Party dismissed the allegations as a politically motivated conspiracy.
Party chief Prashant Kishor has expressed full confidence in Preeti Kinnar. The Jan Suraj Party has announced that it will contest all 243 Assembly seats in Bihar independently, and Preeti’s name was included in the first list of 51 candidates released earlier.
Preeti Kinnar’s candidature is being seen not just as a political move, but also as a symbol of social transformation. Her supporters believe this marks the beginning of a new era in Bihar politics, and all eyes are now on how the people of Bhore respond to this bold political experiment.
