In Jodhpur, a Dalit student, Kamal Kishore Meghwal, was allegedly attacked by ABVP leader Ravindra Singh Bhanta and three to four of his associates at the New Campus of Jai Narayan Vyas University (JNVU). The incident occurred inside the university hostel, located in the Bhagat Ki Kothi police station area.

Kamal Kishore, a final-year B.Sc student from Jaisalmer, stated that the attack took place when he chose not to attend a welcome event organized for BJP leader Satish Poonia. According to him, Bhanta and his associates entered the hostel and physically assaulted him.

The attack left Kishore with a fractured finger and serious injuries to his ribs and abdomen. He is currently undergoing treatment at Mathuradas Mathur Hospital in Jodhpur.

Bhagat Ki Kothi police have registered a case against Ravindra Singh Bhanta and his associates under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Police officer Rajeev Bhadu confirmed that the case is being taken seriously and investigations have begun immediately.

Following the incident, various student and social organizations staged protests. The SFI and CPI(M) condemned the attack, accusing the ABVP of promoting violence against Dalit students. MP Amar Ram also visited the hospital, met the injured student, and demanded a fair and impartial investigation.

The incident has increased pressure on the university administration to ensure a transparent inquiry and take strict action against the perpetrators. The attack has further heightened political and social tensions on the university campus.
