Meeting on Teachers’ Issues Committee Report Underway; Rafi Says Decisions Will Favor Teachers

A meeting is underway in the Bihar Education Department on the report of the high-level committee formed on September 9 by the state government. The committee had been instructed to submit its report within 15 days. The discussions in the meeting are focused on teachers’ service continuity, salary protection, promotions, pay disparities, and seniority-related issues.

The formation of the committee has generated enthusiasm among teachers. Mohammad Rafi, State Coordinator of Qaumi Asatizah Tanzim Bihar, said he has been in constant touch with committee members and department officials. Rafi expressed confidence that the department will take decisions in favor of the teachers.

Provincial Executive Member Naseem Akhtar said this move will prove historic in resolving long-standing issues faced by teachers.
