BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal Alleges Possible Financial Irregularities in Jan Suraj Party’s ₹14 Crore Donation

Insaaf Times Desk

As the Bihar Assembly elections 2025 approach, the political arena is witnessing an intensified wave of accusations and counter-accusations. Amid this, BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal has leveled serious allegations against Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishor (PK). He claimed that the party received a donation of ₹14 crore from a loss-making company, raising suspicions of financial irregularities.

Sanjay Jaiswal, through a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), alleged that a company owned by Andhra Pradesh MP Ayodhya Rami Reddy, which is reportedly running at a loss of ₹19 crore, donated ₹14 crore to the Jan Suraj Party. In support of his claim, he shared the party’s audit report from the Election Commission website, which shows the party’s expenditure for 2023-24 as only ₹35,000, despite the party reportedly arranging 200 vehicles, five-star tents, and appointing dozens of staff members.

Sanjay Jaiswal posed seven questions to Prashant Kishor:

1.Why does the ₹14 crore donation not appear in the Jan Suraj Party’s income?

2.Why is the party’s expenditure for 2023-24 shown as only ₹35,000?

3.What happened to the expenses for hundreds of vehicles and employees?

4.If Sart Kumar Mishra was the party president until 17 September 2024, why was there a “new formation” at Gandhi Maidan on 2 October 2024?

5.Why is there a discrepancy between the audit report on the Election Commission’s website and PK’s claims?

6.Was the donation money kept in PK’s personal account?

7.Why is there so much confusion regarding the actual origin and leadership of the Jan Suraj Party?

Responding to the allegations, Prashant Kishor stated that donations come from those he has previously helped. He admitted that Ayodhya Rami Reddy donated to Jan Suraj through his company, asserting that the donation was transparent and used for the party’s activities.

The controversy has stirred the political waters in Bihar. While the BJP and other opposition parties have questioned the party’s funding and expenditure, Prashant Kishor has defended the transparency of his party’s financial activities. This issue could prove significant in the upcoming elections, as voters are increasingly conscious of a party’s financial integrity and transparency.

Sanjay Jaiswal’s allegations have sparked a new debate against the Jan Suraj Party and Prashant Kishor. It remains to be seen whether the Election Commission will investigate the matter and whether this controversy will impact the party’s image in the forthcoming elections.
