BPSC Recruitment 2025: 935 Posts for Assistant Education Development Officer, Online Applications Open Until 26 September

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released an advertisement for the recruitment of 935 posts of Assistant Education Development Officer (AEDO) under the Education Department. The commission announced that the online application process started on 27 August 2025 and will continue until 26 September 2025.

According to the notification, out of the total 935 posts:

Unreserved (General): 374
Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 93
Scheduled Caste (SC): 150
Scheduled Tribe (ST): 7
Extremely Backward Class (EBC): 168
Backward Class (BC): 112
Backward Class Women: 28

A total of 319 posts are reserved for women. Additionally, 2% horizontal reservation is available for freedom fighter families and 4% for differently-abled candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must hold a graduate degree or its equivalent from a recognized university. The age limit as of 1 August 2025 is as follows:

General Male: 21–37 years
Backward Class (BC/EBC) & Unreserved Women: Maximum 40 years
SC/ST Male & Female: Maximum 42 years

Relaxations

Differently-abled candidates: Up to 10 years
Ex-servicemen: Up to 57 years based on service period
Selection Process & Exam Details
Selected candidates will be appointed at Level-5 with a basic pay of ₹29,200. The selection will be through a written examination only, with no interview.

The exam will include questions on:

General Language (Hindi & English)
General Studies
General Aptitude

Each question carries 1 mark, with a negative marking of one-third for incorrect answers. Minimum qualifying marks are:

General: 40%
Backward Class: 36.5%
Extremely Backward Class: 34%
SC/ST, Women & Differently-abled: 32%

Application Fee

All candidates must pay ₹100 as the exam fee. Candidates without an Aadhaar card must pay an additional ₹200 biometric fee.

Applications are accepted only online; candidates are not required to send any hard copies to the commission office. Detailed instructions and the application link are available on the official BPSC website: www.bpsc.bihar.gov.in.
