India’s 15th Vice President, C.P. Radhakrishnan, is on his first visit to Bihar on Sunday. At Patna Airport, he was received by Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The primary aim of the visit is to convey a message highlighting Bihar’s democratic heritage, literary culture, and religious devotion.

The Vice President paid tribute to Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan by laying flowers at his statue at JP Golambar at 10:55 AM. Jayaprakash Narayan is regarded as a guardian of democracy. On this occasion, Radhakrishnan honored Bihar’s democratic legacy with a solemn homage.

Following the tribute, at 11:10 AM, he attended the closing session of “Unmesh: International Literature Festival.” The three-day festival saw participation from writers, poets, and artists from India and abroad. The Vice President’s address is being described as a guiding force for literature and culture.

The Vice President departed from Patna for Muzaffarpur by convoy, with an expected arrival around 1:00 PM. He will visit and offer prayers at the Maa Chamunda Devi Temple in Katra. During the auspicious month of Navratri, his visit aims to emphasize both religious devotion and cultural connection.

Security arrangements include 500 personnel, magistrates, and senior officials stationed along the temple route. Facilities at the temple include metal detectors, temporary resting rooms, toilets, and Wi-Fi connectivity. The Indian Air Force conducted a trial landing at the helipad near Bhadai Chowk, and the convoy route has been temporarily diverted.

C.P. Radhakrishnan assumed office as India’s 15th Vice President on September 12, 2025. Prior to this, he served as a senior BJP leader, Tamil Nadu state president, and two-time Member of Parliament. His tenure as Vice President will last five years.

Through this visit, the Vice President has sent a historic message by linking Bihar’s democratic heritage, literary richness, and religious devotion.
