Patna(Imam Ali/Insaaf Times) Delhi Court granted bail to prominent activist Umar Khalid for one week for attending his sister’s marriage.“It will begin on 23rd December and khalid will have to surrender on 30th December,”

judge said.Mr Khalid, a former student leader of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), had moved an application seeking two weeks’ interim bail for his sister’s wedding.A court on Monday granted one-week interim bail to former JNU student Umar Khalid, arrested in a case related to the northeast Delhi riots, for his sister’s wedding.Additional Sessions Judge Amitabh Rawat granted relief to Umar Khalid from December 23 to 30.

Umar Khalid is an Indian activist, former student of Jawaharlal Nehru University and former leader of Democratic Students’ Union (DSU) in JNU. Khalid will have spent two years in Tihar Jail under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, accused by the Delhi Police of involvement in 2020 Delhi Riot.
