Tejashwi Yadav’s “Bihar Adhikar Yatra” to Begin on September 16, Conclude in Vaishali on September 20

Political temperatures in Bihar are rising as the state gears up for elections. Leader of Opposition and RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav will launch his “Bihar Adhikar Yatra” (Bihar Rights March) from September 16. The five-day march will begin in Jehanabad and conclude on September 20 in Vaishali, known as the land of democracy.

RJD’s state principal general secretary Ranvijay Sahu has issued letters to district presidents, MPs, MLAs, and other party office bearers with clear directives regarding preparations. The letter specifies that public dialogues will be held at predetermined venues in respective constituencies, where a large turnout of workers and people is expected.

The march will pass through Jehanabad, Nalanda, Patna, Begusarai, Khagaria, Madhepura, Saharsa, Supaul, Samastipur, and Vaishali districts. Its main focus is to engage with citizens on pressing issues such as unemployment, inflation, education, healthcare, and voter rights.

Tejashwi’s initiative comes shortly after Rahul Gandhi’s “Voter Rights Yatra.” The Grand Alliance views this as a way to connect with people and build momentum against the NDA government’s policies. Political analysts suggest the march is a key part of the opposition’s electoral strategy and will further project Tejashwi as the chief ministerial face of the alliance.

The RJD has accused the current government of neglecting core issues like jobs, farmers’ concerns, and education and healthcare. During the march, Tejashwi plans to raise these questions before the people and hold the NDA government accountable.

The “Bihar Adhikar Yatra” could prove to be a major move by the opposition ahead of the 2025 Assembly elections. All eyes are now on how strongly the public rallies behind the march and how it influences Bihar’s electoral equations.
