Tamil Nadu CM Stalin Confirms Prophet Muhammad’s Teachings Already Included in School Curriculum, Assures Protection of Muslim Rights

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Sunday clarified that the teachings of Prophet Muhammad are already incorporated in the state’s school curriculum. The statement came in response to a demand by SDPI Tamil Nadu state president Nellai Mubarak, who had urged that “the Prophet Muhammad’s teachings should be more explicitly included in the educational syllabus.”

Addressing the issue, CM Stalin said, “SDPI state president Nellai Mubarak requested the inclusion of the Prophet Muhammad’s teachings in the syllabus. I am pleased to inform that these teachings are already a part of Tamil Nadu’s education curriculum.”

Stalin praised the principles of equality, love, and social justice advocated by Prophet Muhammad, comparing them to the ideas of Tamil reformist leaders such as Periyar E.V. Ramasamy, C.N. Annadurai, and M. Karunanidhi.

Reassuring the Muslim community, the Chief Minister emphasized that the DMK government will always safeguard their rights. He criticized the BJP and AIADMK for their alleged anti-Muslim policies and highlighted that his government has supported the community on controversial issues such as the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and triple talaq.

He also detailed several welfare initiatives for the Muslim community, including a 3.5% internal reservation for Urdu-speaking Muslims, the establishment of a Minority Welfare Board, the creation of an Urdu Academy, and the construction of a new Hajj House near Chennai Airport.

Stalin called for unity among Muslim leaders and communities, stating, “If Muslims face any difficulties, the first political party that stands with you is the DMK.”

On international matters, the CM expressed concern over the Gaza conflict and urged the central government to take concrete measures to stop violence against Palestinians.

During the event, Stalin also recalled the historic commitment of DMK founders C.N. Annadurai and M. Karunanidhi to the Muslim community and affirmed that his government will continue to stand for the rights and interests of Muslims
