Patna High Court Upholds Manoj Manzil’s Life Sentence; CPI(ML) Alleges Political Pressure Behind Verdict

Insaaf Times Desk

The Patna High Court has rejected the appeal of former CPI(ML) MLA Manoj Manzil, upholding the lower court’s verdict in the Bargaon case of Bhojpur district. The decision means the life sentence handed down by the district court will remain in force.

Reacting to the judgment, CPI(ML) State Secretary Kunal described it as “unfortunate” and claimed that the verdict appeared to have been delivered under political pressure. He announced that the party would soon approach the Supreme Court to challenge the order.

Kunal alleged that the case against Manoj Manzil and other CPI(ML) activists was fabricated, saying, “The person they were accused of killing was never found, yet all of them were sentenced to life imprisonment. This shows how political influence has overshadowed justice.”

Calling the verdict a “conspiracy to silence the leaders of the poor and the working class,” Kunal said the party would continue its struggle for justice both on the streets and in the courts.

He appealed to the people of Bihar and Bhojpur to “stand up for truth and justice” and to “teach a lesson in the upcoming elections to those forces that are trying to suppress the voices of the poor.”
