Instagram Love Story Ends in Horror: Woman’s Body Recovered from Septic Tank in Bhopal

In a shocking incident in the Nishatpura area of Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, the decomposed body of a 33-year-old woman was recovered from a septic tank in a vacant plot on Thursday evening, triggering panic in the locality. Police claimed to have cracked the case within 24 hours. The deceased has been identified as Ashrafi alias Sia, a resident of Gondia district in Maharashtra.

According to police, Sia came into contact with the accused, Sameer, through Instagram. The two had been living together in Bhopal for the past few months. Sameer is reportedly married and has two children.

Investigators said Sia had been pressuring Sameer to marry her. On Monday night, during a heated argument, Sameer allegedly killed her.

After the murder, the accused reportedly kept the body inside the house before disposing of it with the help of his mother, brother and sister. The body was allegedly packed in an iron trunk and dumped into a septic tank near Nishatpura.

Nishatpura police have arrested four members of Sameer’s family on charges of aiding and abetting the murder, while the prime accused remains absconding. Officials said further details will emerge following the post-mortem and forensic examination.

The case serves as a grim reminder of the risks and emotional distress linked to relationships that begin on social media platforms. Police said efforts are underway to arrest the main accused and ensure justice in the matter.
