US and Israeli joint attacks on Iran have caused widespread destruction in the capital, Tehran, and other major cities. According to government officials, nearly 10,000 civilian sites—including residential buildings, hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure—have been impacted.
In Tehran, a room at Gandhi Hospital was reduced to rubble when nearby state TV communications towers and other buildings were struck. Mojtaba Khaledi, spokesperson for the Iranian Red Crescent Society, reported that approximately 20,000 buildings have been affected, 77 health centers damaged, and 16 Red Crescent centers temporarily closed. Numerous patients and staff have been relocated to safe locations.
Minab School Attack – The Deadliest Incident of the Conflict
The most shocking attack occurred at a primary school in Minab, where 167 people, mostly children, were killed. The Ministry of Health confirmed that so far, 1,250 people have died, including 200 children and 200 women, while over 12,000 have been injured. Medical personnel were also severely affected, with 11 killed and 55 injured.
Impact on Civilian Infrastructure
US-Israeli strikes have also hit oil and gas depots, power stations, and technical institutions. The World Health Organization (WHO) warned that “black rain” could pose a severe public health risk.
Internet Blackout and Security Measures
Tehran remains under internet blackout for the 11th consecutive day, with only local intranet services operational. VPNs and proxy connections are available on the black market but are being continuously shut down by authorities. The Iranian military and IRGC have declared US and Israeli banks and economic institutions as legitimate targets.
Economic and Social Consequences
Local commerce is slowly resuming. Long queues are seen at petrol stations, and trading in the Grand Bazaar is limited. The conflict, coupled with rising inflation, has worsened living conditions for ordinary citizens. The Iranian government has announced plans to ensure food, medicine, and other essentials via emergency channels until March 20, coinciding with the Navratri period.
The US-Israeli attacks have left Tehran and other cities in ruins, affecting thousands of civilians, destroying hospitals and schools, and deepening the health, education, and public safety crisis.
