The Election Commission has announced the schedule for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. This year, the elections will be held in two phases. The first phase of voting will take place in 121 assembly constituencies on 6th November, while the second phase will be conducted in 122 assembly constituencies on 11th November. The counting of votes will be held on 14th November, and the entire election process is expected to conclude by 16th November.

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar stated that a total of 74.2 million voters will exercise their franchise in this election. He further clarified that several new measures have been implemented to ensure transparency and fairness in the voting process.

The Election Commission informed that mobile depositing facilities will be provided at polling stations, and candidates’ colored photographs will also be displayed on EVMs to help voters identify them easily. Additionally, the number of voters at each polling station will not exceed 1,200, ensuring smooth conduct of the voting process.

For security, over 500 companies of central armed police forces will be deployed across Bihar.

Political analysts suggest that this election is likely to witness a tight contest between the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Mahagathbandhan (MGB). In the race for the Chief Minister’s post, Tejashwi Yadav enjoys significant support from young voters, while Nitish Kumar maintains a strong hold over traditional vote banks.

The Election Commission has issued identity cards to all booth-level officers to prevent any kind of malpractice during the election process. A total of 243 assembly seats will go to the polls, including 38 reserved for Scheduled Castes and 2 reserved for Scheduled Tribes.

The Election Commission has appealed to all political parties and voters to participate in a peaceful and fair election. Voters are urged to exercise their franchise and strengthen democracy.

The announcement of election dates has already stirred political activity in Bihar. All political parties are busy finalizing their strategies, and voters are eagerly anticipating the upcoming election results.
