The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has announced the postponement of the Bharat Bandh scheduled for October 3, which was called to protest against the Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2025. The Board stated that in several states, major festivals of fellow citizens are falling on the same dates, and therefore, after careful consideration, it has been decided to defer the bandh.
An emergency meeting of the AIMPLB was held under the chairmanship of its president, Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, where the situation was reviewed and the decision was taken. The Board clarified that fresh dates for the Bharat Bandh will be announced soon.
However, the AIMPLB reiterated that its ongoing campaign against the Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2025 will continue as planned, and other protest programs will be held on their scheduled dates.
In a joint statement, AIMPLB General Secretary Maulana Mohammad Fazlur Rahim Mujaddidi and spokesperson Dr. Syed Qasim Rasool Ilyas said that the struggle to safeguard the religious, social, and constitutional rights of Muslims will continue at every level.
For now, all eyes remain on the Board’s next move and the announcement of new dates for the Bharat Bandh.
