A fresh political controversy has erupted after posters announcing the foundation-laying ceremony of the Babri Masjid surfaced in Murshidabad, West Bengal. Reacting sharply to the development, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha asserted that the Babri Masjid will never be rebuilt in India and that only temples dedicated to Lord Ram and Goddess Sita will be constructed in the country.
Speaking to reporters in Patna, Sinha said “Never again will a Babur be born in India who can build Babri Masjid on this land. The children of Mother India have awakened. No descendant of Babur will ever construct a Babri Masjid in this country.”
The controversy began after posters were reportedly put up late Tuesday night in the Beldanga area of Murshidabad, announcing a “Babri Masjid Foundation Ceremony” on December 6. The posters name TMC MLA Humayun Kabir as the organiser of the event.
Kabir has also issued a statement saying “We will lay the foundation of the Babri Masjid on December 6.”
It is worth noting that the Babri Masjid was demolished on December 6, 1992, in Ayodhya, triggering decades of legal and political conflict over the Ram
Following the Supreme Court verdict, a grand Ram Temple has now been constructed at the disputed site.
On Tuesday, a ceremonial flag-hoisting event was held at the Ram Temple complex, which many are viewing as symbolically significant given the historical context.
With posters now surfacing in Murshidabad, the political war of words has intensified, and observers believe the matter may soon escalate into a major issue at both the state and national levels.
