“Young Democrats’ Madiha Raza Warns States: Enact Strict Laws to Curb AI-Driven Hate”

Madiha Raza, a member of the National Executive Committee of the Young Democrats, has expressed deep concern over the increasing misuse of artificial intelligence and urged all state governments to take swift and strict action. She stated that new technologies are being systematically exploited to spread hate, create misleading content, and sow societal divisions—troubling developments for democratic governance.

In her statement, Raza highlighted recent reports by the Centre for the Study of Organized Hate and the Internet Freedom Foundation, which underscore how AI-driven tools are being used to generate inflammatory narratives, manipulated images, and deceptive messages on a large scale across various social platforms. She emphasized that such activities are undermining social harmony, constitutional values, and the integrity of public discourse.

Raza clarified that technological advancement should serve societal interests, not become a vehicle for hate and misinformation. According to her, it is essential for democratic societies to ensure timely and effective controls over the misuse of emerging technologies.

The Young Democrats have called on state governments to enact stringent laws to curb AI misuse and the proliferation of misleading videos. They have also demanded the establishment of robust monitoring mechanisms to identify and prevent hate campaigns. The organization stressed the need to hold social media platforms and technology service providers accountable and to launch comprehensive digital literacy initiatives, enabling citizens to recognize misleading content.

Raza underlined that protecting freedom of expression and safeguarding citizens from organized hate are equally important. She reiterated that the Young Democrats remain committed to inclusive politics, constitutional values, and responsible digital governance.
