Social Democratic Party of India National Secretary Sardar D.S. Bindra has expressed deep concern over the rising communal tension in Uttam Nagar. He has urged the administration to take immediate, strict, and impartial action to maintain peace and social harmony.
In his statement, Bindra said that the growing atmosphere of hatred and retaliation in Uttam Nagar is extremely unfortunate and is creating dangerous divisions within society. He described the silence of both the central government and the Delhi government on this serious issue as worrying, adding that it is emboldening anti-social and communal elements.
He alleged that certain communal groups have deliberately tried to give a communal color to an unfortunate incident that occurred during the festival of Holi, thereby creating fear, insecurity, and hostility among communities. Bindra clarified that the incident was reportedly the result of a personal dispute between two families and not related to any communal cause.
The SDPI leader warned that some elements are openly delivering hate speeches, inciting violence, and talking about bloodshed without any fear. He stated that such activities could push society towards serious unrest and instability.
Finally, Bindra appealed to all communities to come together to uphold social harmony, mutual respect, and brotherhood. He also urged the administration to ensure strict and unbiased action against those attempting to disrupt peace and unity, so that law and order can be maintained.
